Project Outline and Work Plan.

Project Outline So I am scrapping the old idea and am working on a new one. So far here is a new project work plan.
Perhaps you should take a look online at some artists' projects by students and established artists. Also, an introduction to web history might provide inspiration. I suggest as a seminar topic you focus on the basics - an intro to Internet history. This research could be helpful in fine-tuning an idea.
I'm glad we had a chance to meet earlier this week outside of class and to go through your new project idea based on a personal history timeline. As I said, akakurdistan is a good prototype example for you and it was built in HTML with frames. I will discuss with Craig possible options for building the project. In the meantime, it is important for you to pull together all the editorial elements - writing, photographs and any other media files like MP3s you want to include. These should be organized to fit on the timeline.
I worry about your concept depending on getting materials from Calgary. This puts an important part of the research beyond your direct control - a problem, since the time for the course is elapsing quickly. You spoke about drawings and other types of images you could use. While you wait for images from Calgary, try to create as many images of your own as possible so that your progress doesn't depend on receiving the pix completely. You could put time into writing also. That will give you the base materials for building your structure and you can add more material as it arrives.
Your initial outline was very thorough and your timeline seemed reasonable, however now that the concept has changed, it's no longer applicable. You should create a new timeline based on the time remaining in the semester.
Please feel free to e-mail me directly if you have any questions. Also, please put a new post on the blog with your new concept. You can use that as the basis for your presentation tuesday.
